Energy Breakfast Smoothie
Rolled Oats, Fruits, Nuts, Raw Cacao, Date
So loving this breakfast in a smoothie, everything about it is fresh and whole, and incredibly creamy. The dates add a natural rich sweetener. This particular smoothie is filling and satisfying and in fact provides a lot of energy. It contains calcium, protein, potassium, magnesium, fiber, antioxidants, B vitamins and omega 3 fatty acids plus so much more I’d fill this page to identify them.
I’ve found that using water or home made non dairy milk is best and avoids the nasty preservatives, creaminess is incredibly achieved by nut butters, the rolled oats and the fruits used. Try using minimally processed, for instance, raw dried cacao instead of the beverage cocoa or bar kind, rolled oats not instant, raw almonds and not toasted, unsulphured dried fruit and molasses, fresh ground peanut or almond butter etc.
I suppose you wouldn’t have to freeze the banana and apricots but doing this before going to bed is easy and ready in the morning and worth the results. I actually froze the fruits when I woke and they were good to use two hours later.
This is great for breakfast, mid morning or lunch and after a good workout.
1 frozen banana
1 apricot frozen
3 chopped dates delget or medjool
10 soaked raw almonds – or unsoaked
1 tbsp chia seeds
1 tbsp hemp seeds
1 tbsp tahini or fresh peanut butter
1 tbsp molasses unsulphered
1 tbsp coconut butter
1 tbsp raw cacao
2 tbsp rolled oats including it’s water
¾ cup water
Combine the water, dates and nuts in a blender and mix until minced, add the remainder ingredients and blend until smooth and creamy. It’s very thick!
